You may have heard of the new invention the Gyro Bowl. When I saw it I thought it was a cool idea but figured it wouldn’t really work. Well, I was wrong.

Since I have 4 kids I figured I would buy one and see how it went. Surprisingly it was a huge success. The kids think its great fun. Now obviously if they push the gyro-scoping portion of the bowl they can force it to spill but as long as they hold it by the handles it does just fine.

So while it does a good job of preventing spills I think the best part is watching my children play with the Gyro Bowl. They just have a blast!

One thing I thought might be a problem was cleaning. With all of those moving parts and a bottom that hides the back of the bowl I figured food would get stuck in there. Well fortunately the gyro-scoping portion of the bowl can be easily removed and both the base and gyroscope can be easily cleaned.

Its also top shelf dishwasher safe. As long as you don’t have huge chunks of food on the bowl your dishwasher should do a great job of getting it clean.

Depending on whether you want to consider the Gyro bowl a toy or simply a bowl you may think the price is a bit high. Its around $10 online and in stores. Personally I think its the best $10 I have spent on a kids toy…it makes a great bowl to boot!
